1. Who we are

Motoble is a trading name of Michael James Automotive Ltd (company number 16985685), a company registered in England and Wales. In these terms, "Motoble," "we," "us" and "our" refer to Michael James Automotive Ltd.

2. What Motoble currently does

Motoble currently offers:

• A free vehicle lookup tool for consumers, which combines official DVLA and DVSA records (MOT history, tax status, registration details) with our own plain-English interpretation of that record.
• An early-access waitlist for a future trade-facing data intelligence product aimed at independent dealerships, multi-site and franchise dealer groups, car supermarkets, and workshops/aftersales providers. This product is in development and not yet live.

Motoble does not currently offer, and these terms do not cover:

• Vehicle valuations of any kind.
• A vehicle listings, classified ads, or marketplace service.
• Vehicle inspection, warranty, or advisory services (these are offered separately by Michael James Automotive under a different brand and are not part of Motoble).

3. Accuracy and limitations of the vehicle lookup tool

• Vehicle lookup results are based on official DVLA and DVSA data, supplemented by our own interpretation of patterns in that data.
• Our interpretation is not a mechanical inspection, valuation, or guarantee of a vehicle's condition. It reflects only what has been recorded in official test history, which may be incomplete, delayed, or occasionally inaccurate.
• You should not rely on Motoble as your sole source of information when buying, selling, or making any decision about a vehicle. Always view a vehicle in person, take it for a test drive, and seek independent advice before purchase.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Motoble is not liable for any loss arising from decisions made in reliance on information provided through the vehicle lookup tool.

4. Third-party data and attribution

MOT and vehicle data is sourced from DVLA and DVSA under the Open Government Licence. We do not claim ownership of this underlying government data, and our use of it is subject to the terms of the relevant government API and licensing terms in force at the time.

5. Advertising

The free vehicle lookup tool is supported by third-party advertising. Advertising on Motoble does not imply our endorsement of any advertiser, product, or service.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the vehicle lookup tool to harass, stalk, or gather information about individuals rather than vehicles.
• Attempt to scrape, bulk-extract, or systematically harvest data from Motoble.
• Use Motoble for any unlawful purpose.

7. The trade waitlist

Registering interest via the early-access waitlist does not create any obligation on Motoble to provide access, nor any obligation on you to subscribe once the product launches. We'll only contact you about Motoble's launch, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Motoble's functionality develops. We'll indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
